6 Days Residential Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Cybersecurity

Dr. Usha Desai, Professor & Dean (R&D), participated in a Six Days Residential Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Cybersecurity held from 19th to 24th January 2026 at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal.
The programme was organised by CySeck Centre of Excellence for Cybersecurity in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and conducted in association with NITK Surathkal. The FDP was supported by British Asian Trust and BT Group, highlighting strong industry–academia collaboration.
The FDP focused on contemporary topics in cybersecurity, including cyber threats, secure systems, risk management, and emerging trends in cyber defence. The sessions were delivered by eminent experts from academia, research institutions, and industry, providing both theoretical insights and practical perspectives.
Participation in this FDP enhanced the understanding of advanced cybersecurity concepts and best practices, which will contribute to strengthening teaching, research, and institutional initiatives in cybersecurity and allied domains. The knowledge gained will be disseminated through academic activities, curriculum enrichment, and student mentoring at the college level.
